Meet Vie

Thank-you for visiting my writing and editing web site. I am a writer and editor. In an earlier public education career, I was a speech therapist, special-needs teacher, elementary school dean, and assistant principal.

My husband and I live along the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. We share our home with three cats and one crazy dog.We are blessed with two wonderful sons and their sweet and beautiful wives. (And our four Grandcats, Wes, Smitty, Remy, and Walter Lee.)

Christ is the cornerstone of my life—He is the source of my joy, my strength, and my inspiration.  Apart from him, I can do nothing.

Violet? What a Name!

A few years ago, I gathered a tiny bouquet of my woodland namesakes. I’d never been fond of the name, “Violet,” but as I held those delicate blossoms with big heart-shaped leaves, I marveled at God’s creation. Maybe the name wasn’t so bad, after all.

 

 

 

Lord, help me to be like the violet.

Okay, maybe delicate is a stretch—but do give me a gentle spirit, and a big heart.

And like the runner-roots, let me spread your joy in all that I do, say, and write.
